It occurred to me that I have never made an #introduction post since being on #Mastodon.I'm a 40-something #dad to 2 kids. I work as a #software #developer. I #cycle. I use #linux and #selfHost software when I can (including Mastodon). We have a #shitzu.I'm into #scifi (like #StarTrek and #StarWars) and #anime (but don't judge me because I often watch the dubbed versions). I've watched all the #Marvel #movies and #TVseries that have been released for home viewing.

@dansup The haters are gonna hate no matter what you do -- either because they think you're taking too long, or because of bugs that will happen if you rush.The only way to win against then is to do exactly what you're doing: keep your head down, work slowly and deliberately, and ship a functioning product -- when it's ready.

@dansup Seems like the brief period where well-known info was not included in the robots.txt was a mistake and not malicious. If clout was the goal, the stats would have been inflated, not random. Even their own setting, "Baffle" indicates it's purpose is to misreport stats to misbehaving crawlers -- fedidb just hit it up at the worst time (or isn't reading robots.txt?).Why immediately assume the worst with no other evidence, and call any attempt at explanation "doubling down"? I don't get it.

Random question for any doctors, nurses, or medical professionals: I saw this screen monitoring pressures of various medical gases in the hospital, and I noticed that are not all measured in the same units. Besides the fact that I thought everything would be in metric, why are two in PSI and one in inHg?
