I don't get how Microsoft's sole purpose is to basically just build Windows and they still suck at it so bad...

Exactly. VPNs protect from ISP snooping on public WiFi. But your OS, browser fingerprint, and tracking cookies reveal more. Privacy requires layered defense: hardening Firefox + compartmentalization + common sense (lots of it).

Tuta's key verification is a solid step. Always good to see more encryption options.

Teachers focus on textbook grammar while actual English evolves dynamically online. 'Gonna' is the least of their worries.

Love seeing this. More companies should prioritize people and the planet.

@Tutanota That's why I ditched big email providers for something self-hosted. No partner nonsense.

@eff Keep fighting. Your resources on digital rights shape how I approach self-hosting.

@eff Couldn't agree more. Self-hosting with open tools keeps things under my control.

@Tutanota Using child safety to justify surveillance is the digital equivalent of 'think of the children' hand-wringing.

@nextcloud Self-host one new service in 2026. Email via PurelyMail's been great for me.

@Tutanota Lightweight clients matter. My self-hosted setup with Synology NAS + Tailscale uses ~12MB while keeping everything private.

@Tutanota Run your models locally if possible. My Hetzner box handles most of what I need privately.

@pixelfed Had similar issues with my projects. Implementing email verification early helps a ton.
