@wendyhermedy isn't it an opportunity to start mapping your region and create/lead the community?

@chebra @Kalytis @grischard you messed everything up, please check the facts. There was an (unsuccessful) attempt to hijack the project; people responsible for that (including the one vacationing in a disputed territory, which triggered a ban of the OrganicMaps org on GitHub) are not on board anymore. Why are you spreading the FUD? What are your goals?

@Woodknot @almonds Organic Maps was created to replace paper maps in the first place (as MapsWithMe, in 2010).

@chebra @Kalytis @grischard the position of the current OM's board and contributors was always public and clear, and if you follow our chats and facts, you would know that, together with the facts about the hijacking. You could contact our team directly at any time for details instead of throwing dirt on the internet. P.S. Our contributors, relatives, and friends are suffering now under daily attacks in Ukraine.

@grischard @chebra @Kalytis@piaille.fr not yet. Such a blog post would advertise bad guys, so it should be done carefully. It is sad that only a few people, after a long time, were interested to know the details/truth and contacted us directly. Many people blindly believed and followed misinformation on the Internet.

@GrantJoseph sorry, it is not clear from your description. When the app is updated, it may have new map data. When we release an update, we announce it on the web site. You get the announcement via rss -> likely you can update the app and update the map data. We plan to automate map updates too.

@mxk what is the root cause of such a wish? If you set a dark mode in the system, you don't expect some apps to ignore it, right?

@rducreux It is not clear from your description, what's the issue. You either go from your current position somewhere ("route to"), or start building a route from anywhere ("route from") to somewhere ("route to"). Please check https://organicmaps.app/faq/map/how-to-create-a-route/
