       @jsstaedtler it's even more fundamental than that. The outdoor unit has a display that gives really basic info about its status and that says it's still in cooling mode even if the thermostat is set to heat. There's one specific wire that sends the signal to switch modes, so I need to set it to heat and measure the voltage of that wire.

       Apparently there is a technique called "Tar Pitting" where an email server is intentionally slow to respond to connections. The benefit of this is spam senders tend to give up and leave before sending the message.The downside is non-spam senders, like automated "here is your code to log in" mails, will also give up and leave.

       One of the two web hosts I use has a FIFTEEN SECOND delay before responding to connections. I don't know if this is intentional or not. Seems bad.

       I get that Nintendo doesn't want to do colorful joycons because that's basically the only way to tell a Switch 1 from a Switch 2 at a glance. But it's still a bad choice.
