@mntmn rf engineer for automotive applications here, simulation really depends on how complex the environment of the antenna is and how well the one doing simulations knows his handywork.

@mntmn thinking about this, a fractal antenna design on the lid might be the best solution

@mntmn I am not very well versed in fractal antenna design. But since this is a geometric repeating design, it shouldn't be too hard to match it to 2.4Ghz or dual band. First you would choose a shape like a triangle(or two) and then multiply it while shrinking at the same time(basically making cut outs in the big triangle). have a pcb mill at work wich isn't functional at the moment but maybe I can do some work on it in the next weeks. Others might jump on this idea as well.

@mntmn question about classic mb 3.0: will installing this f#*k up my install?I still run original sw with only minor patches for battery. If installing the new motherboard requires full re-install I need to prepare backups in time

@mntmn 4 inch would be easiest for one handed operation. But it all depends on the aspect ratio really. There was the idea of the pinecom pda which had a lot of good ideas for a pocket linux touch device

@mntmn one feature the tablet should absolutely have is a kickstand, either build in or with a case. A lot of people whish their tablet had this feature and their are not a lot of companies offering this (in a case or on the device itself)

@mntmn was there a reasom for choosing gnome? With the old processor choices, wayfire was a good choice but wouldn't XFCE have been a more sensible choice? Lightweight and you can make a nice familiar ui layout for *nix neewbies

@mntmn funny as the framework is not really repairable but parts swappable. No documentation what parts are where, no list what to buy etc.Yes the shop with spare parts makes it easier, but by far not as good as mnt products where I can build it from scratch. For mainstream people it's okay for apocalypse fanatic hackers like us, it's not enough.I hope there will be a bit more exposure with the next because that means more funding for more projects.

@mntmn weight and maybe space in the pocket. But then again the iPhone air is just there because Samsung made the galaxy air so both companies can have their little silly battle

@mntmn the abaolute horror of USB connectors and protocols. They should have made the C Standard require minimum USB3.0 protocols.
