@_elena @elena I gave the custom emojis clear, short descriptions in CamelCase so that they are fully accessible for people using screen readers. My profile reads: “my values are BlackLivesMatter Feminist HeartPride HeartTrans NoNazis.”I think this shows a lot of care on accessibility. Thanks a lot!And thanks for sharing your experience with GTS and to visibilize the diversity in the Fedi.

@_elena Thanks once more for this profound articles. One interesting topic is ether lack of content is a peertube problem or a community challenge. Maybe looking this way triggers more responsability to creators.Regarding mobile apps, I think initial releases allowed to manually add servers. Maybe this has changed! Thanks for the work!

@_elena I think this is a key point, and unfortunately is not an easy one. The challenge is general: how do we collectively support our creators that don’t produce material things? And I am thinking on artist, journalists, free software developers, etc…So one option is patronage, and may be helpful (I do support some people that way). But if we let the responsability to be at the individual level, then it can be very scary and unstable for the creator. In my head, we should address this in a community-way, stepping in our responsability to support this immaterial contribution. This is a very interesting and relevant debate!! ❤️

@leberschnitzel @_elena I have to say that youtube is banning IPs, which affects Peertube import feature. We are struggling with this in @anartist.

@_elena Sure!Youtube has been quite agressive with alternatives frontend and tools like youtube-dl (which peertube uses under the hood). The option to bypass included by peertube is to use a proxy, although we didn't manage to make it run.https://github.com/Chocobozzz/PeerTube/issues/6494

@_elena That happens a lot, but if you use the tools you are condemning (or you don’t use the ones that promote), what real message are you sending? That there are no real alternatives.
