It's happened again! *sigh*Occasionally, I will post a semi-astute political comment on someone else's post, which gives people the idea that I might be someone they would be interested in following, only to rapidly un-follow me when they realise that mostly what I post is pictures of aeroplanes!So, for those people, and everyone else, I'm going to try to post more on my political/writing/general life-focused account @stuartb , and save this space for stuff that's too geeky for its own good!

Well, that's sub-optimal...Checked my #YuNoHost dashboard for any updates this morning, and there it was - Ghost 6.0.5!A quick check on disk space (plenty!), then I clicked "Update".A popup appeared,telling me that I couldn't update to v6 from... 5.0.130 (??), I would have to cast an arcane spell to update to 5.x.140, then upgrade from there.OK, why couldn't you just do that for me, this is why most people use YuNoHost, but whatever...I logged in to my console, cast the spell..."This app does not exist", or words to that effect.Hmm.Wait, is that a typo in the spell you want me to cast?Yeah - "https;//...".OK, correct that, and..."Malformed URI, should look like...."But it does look like that, except with "/tree/" and what looks like a checksum on the end.OK, stripping out the checksum doesn't work ("Malformed URI"), stripping /tree has the same result.Okay, let's go to the github page...Hmm, the only references to 5.x.140 is a changelog, which seems to suggest that the only change was to the version number in a couple of files.And I had to leave it there, because I had spent 40 minutes troubleshooting this instead of grabbing a shower before leaving for work, and didn't do any of the writing I got up early for.*yawn*There should be a law against early mornings.So, yeah, still running the last version of Ghost, despite my best efforts.

@welshpixie @darktable Cheers for that - now i just need to sit down and learn how to actually USE Darktable!I've played with it in the past, and never been particularly happy with the results, so never really given it much of a chance.Dunno if its my choice of subject matter ( #BigMetalBirbs ), but i found some rather unexpected results - might post some examples when i get home from work.But thanks again!😁

One day, I am going to sit down and learn how to use DarkTable - but today is not that day.Even though I've spent most of the last hour playing with @welshpixie 's presets ( https://mastodon.art/@welshpixie/115377507573229677 ) instead of getting ready for work..I don't have a good relationship with DarkTable - it always leaves me more confused than anything - but even more so this morning.The presets look really fun and interesting, but... nope, brain not working.But thanks!#DarkTable #photography #editing

@Dero_10 @welshpixie It might just be that im stuck in my ways - ive been on Gimp 2.8.x for... must be a decade now, as the plugins i use just work, and give me near enough 1-click acess to a look and feel that i like, whereas everything changed in the versions after - those plugins dont work, and what would be 10 minutes editing on 2.8 is now 20+ minutes because everything else has moved.#OldManShakesFistAtSky

@Curator Occasionally, i consider setting up an instance for myself and a few friends, it csnt be any worse than the message boards I used to run for several bands, now, can it?Then i remember the grief and the hassle and the flame wars and the abuse, and go back to doomscrolling on my own, personal little instance.All the decent admins and mods have my respect - the ones who refuse to deal with Freeze Peach problems that turn their servers into a Nazi Bar don't...
