What (Android) app do people recommend to view fediverse videos, without needing to create yet another account? I'm currently trying P2play, but it doesn't appear to support playlists (or I can't figure out how to find them).I'm using Moshidon for reading Mastodon if that makes any difference.@FediVideo#FDroid

@eff @washingtonpostWrong. They should be allowed to hide it as much as they want. But the lawmakers should make it clear to them that unless the user gave consent, you don't have consent. Consent is not something you take. It does not default to yes.Like the GDPR tried, but still doesn't work (something I'm sure giving a few of those gigantic fines they were threatening in the beginning would fix).

@FediFollowsDoes Flipboard have an overview of what feeds they have? I can't find one.Going through such a list would probably be more efficient than randomly seeing the one post of yours that recommends a feed i might be interested in.

@FediFollowsI think this could be clarified. If "sort by recent" is the date/time of the accounts most recent post, it's mostly fine, everyone gets a chance when they post. However, it could be an incentive to spam post to stay at the top. However, it could also be understood as the number of recent posts, which would ensure that so-called "influencers" are always at the top.

@davidrevoyWait, they are same sex? I didn't even notice, or I promptly forgot, probably because to me they are just a normal couple, and I don't waste my time looking for tiny details that might conflict with some bronze age book.

@FediFollows @pidgin @FreeTube @TiddlyWiki @bookstack @homeassistant @evccPidgin still lives?Last time I looked, protocols were becoming unsupported one by one, and it seemed like development was slowly dying.

@TerryHancockThose democrats need to start showing that they are neither associated with those that did everything they could to lose the 2024 election, nor with those that keep voting with the republicans every time they do something so horrible that they can't find enough republican voters to support it.And they better start four months ago, because it's going to take a huge amount of work.In fact I can't see any way to do so that doesn't involve either splitting the party in two, or kicking out every single one of the right wing democrats, starting with Chuck Schumer.

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Why does a game console need a desktop environment? If I wanted a desktop, I'd use my pc. If I want to get away from the desktop, I'll consider buying a console.Maybe a Switch is a better choice?

@FediFollowsCould we get some way to filter out the country picks? You sometimes pick subjects that don't interest me, but for most of your posts there is something interesting, even if most of them don't result in a follow. But for the country picks, there is a ton of countries, and I don't have a lot of interest in most of them, so I tend to scroll past them.Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the group of people who are interested is much smaller and more local for the country picks than for other subjects. My first thought was leave them on the web, most people will only be interested in one or two countries, and that's much easier to browse through on the website, where as one person may be interested in many different subjects. But that's probably going to have a lot of people disagree, so some way to easily filter them out.Maybe a separate account (like the fedi videos one), or simply some keyword filtering?

@FediVideoNewest on top results in the least amount of scrolling. If you are trying to catch up, there will be a lot of scrolling at the start, but it becomes less until you've caught up, then there won't be any more scrolling.Oldest first results in more and more scrolling as the list gets longer. If you are just trying to see if the content is good, newest on top (people usually get better with experience). The exception being when items you've already watched disappear (like in an RSS reader), and are meant to be viewed in order.I'd say pretty much every case points to newest on top for fedi.video.

@gcluleyChild protection? That's usually a synonym for censorship. As DNS is simply a mapping between names and IP addresses, nothing related to children, you can strike the word "usually" from the above.

@organicmaps @umap Playing around with Organic Maps, it appears to fail to calculate a route across an area where only the World Map is installed, even though there is a motorways across the missing area, and the world map includes motorways. It simply stops calculating after asking to download an inbetween map.Let's say someone is planning a vacation trip from Copenhagen to Rome. Needing to download only the Copenhagen and Rome maps would make a huge difference in both space and download size compared to downloading every map along the route. And such trips are usually done on motorways anyway.Missing feature, bug or user error?#OrganicMaps #UMap

@organicmaps @umapAlso, I would like to see (at least as an option) the download map modal popup when scrolling turned into a button in a corner.Allow me to view and zoom in on the world map without downloading detailed maps, if what I want to see is already available.(Could be I wanted to check the coast line, or in this case, I wanted to see how detailed the world map alone is).

This account is temporarily disabled until I get an answer from the admins about which rule I have apparently broken.
