Saw my therapist today, wish I could have done so sooner but new year and insurance rollover and ugh yeah My domestic situation has been rather dire, and it led me back down into hopelessness over the past month. I had lost sight of the optimistic future that I can still have, which my therapist reminded me of. Getting there from here is still unclear and scary as fuck, but I need to remember it's there. It's going to take a very long time, but I have to spend that time moving forward.

I got some crazy inspiration about a month ago to try a simple animation, and I worked out how to do so in IbisPaint on Android. I like how it's turning out! There are still lots of things I want to improve and add, but this is providing me with something to fiddle with whenever I'm bored; it's almost meditative at this point to move frames around and copy changes a whole bunch of times.#lewd #LewdArt #NSFWArt #JSSLewd #JSSJillian

The animation functionality in IbisPaint is pretty basic: there's a single sequence of frames, and I can't simply "hide" any of them—I would have to delete them entirely. This animation shows the "B" sequence, but I've also made "A" and "C" before and after (which aren't to my liking yet). I had to export the whole animation, then cut the ends off to create this continuous loop.It's a fun learning experience, but I'll probably need to switch to a PC if I take animating any more seriously...

@jeff Wow, my experience with walk-in doctors is they prescribe the antibiotics no matter what, just to cover all the bases, but it makes way more sense to let the patient decide based on how the symptoms progress.And I think steroid sprays take a while before they make a significant improvement? I was told something like that when I got one for a different issue

@mrmarcorusso My own favourite feature is that it is all owned and operated by regular, everyday people. There is no corporate ownership and no profit motive. No billionaires at the top playing with their toys. Just *people*, connecting with each other.Alas, not so many folks are willing to change just for that. And the corporate networks do everything they can to convince users not to leave.

@jeff Thanks :BlobCat_SmilignMaximum: It started out pretty rough, like moving her whole static body forward and backward, but I separated her head from the body, and then the hair (which is in 3 separate pieces), and had them all move independently. It's been really satisfying to see it improve with time, and I'm working on adding some more variety soon (and then looking at how difficult colours might be :BlobCat_Sweat:)

@mrmarcorusso That's exactly it, the barrier to change must be lower than the user's motivation to change. And the barrier is made as big as possible, with arguments about losing your followers, having less "reach," alternatives being too complicated, etc.My own experience is that, on Twitter, I was being fed a constant supply of stressful content, and convinced that I absolutely needed it. I would never have believed I'd be happy with *less* available content from a *smaller* pool of users.

@mrmarcorusso The fact is, I have a real limit on how much info I can reasonably take in, and how much negativity I can sustain. My social network can't give me everything, and instead it should provide me only what's of benefit—and that takes deliberate pruning and selection of sources and topics. No one on the corporate networks will believe that they should put in that much effort, instead of just staying where they are. Sadly, it kinda needs to be experienced to be believed.
