Meet the new ▶️ Gradients [Poles] ◀️ filter in G'MIC-Qt! 🌈Move a few colored control points and watch smooth, flowing gradients appear — all thanks to RBF interpolation magic. Perfect for unique color maps or abstract art. 🎥 See it in action below!#GMIC #DigitalArt #OpenSource

@laurentduval fais gaffe, tu peux être sûr qu'il y'en a qui vont prendre ça au premier degré. Humour et wokisme ne font généralement pas bon ménage !

Susan, a long-time G’MIC user, just surprised us with a beautiful set of bird postcards, each one processed with her favorite G’MIC filters! Always amazing to see how the community uses algorithms to create art. 🐦 Thanks so much Susan! 😍 ▶️ Link to her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sues_blues_new_england/

New filter in G’MIC-Qt: ▶️ Degradations / Offset Stripes ◀️ , a playful glitch effect that chops your image into stripes and shifts them around randomly. You can even enable per-channel offsets for more chromatic chaos! Here are a few examples with different settings and glitch moods ↓

@GIMP With possibly a few limitations compared to our G'MIC plug-in anyway: 1/ G'MIC filters that takes multiple inputs or output multiple layers have to be simplified to 1→1 filters.2/ On-canvas preview possibly annoying for complex filters that take a lot of time to render (e.g. denoising). For those, a smaller preview widget like in our plug-in is more suitable (renders faster).3/ Not sure how GEGL on-canvas preview works for filters that modify the layer resolution (e.g. upscaling).4/ Not easy to update GEGL nodes when G'MIC filters are updated (while it's one button click in our G'MIC plug-in 😋 ) → static nodes.Super nice contribution anyway! 👍

@pepie34 Tu crois que la liste des filtres de G'MIC, partagés depuis les 5 dernières années pourraient les intéresser ? ;)

🚀 New Release: G’MIC-GEGL v0.1.0! 🎉We’re excited to share that the first public release of G’MIC-GEGL (v0.1.0) is available! This experimental project brings over 1,500 G’MIC commands directly into the GEGL framework as native operations, meaning G’MIC filters can now be used inside any GEGL-based app (including #GIMP of course!).Kudos to Łukasz Grabski, developer of RasterFlow who made it possible!▶️ https://discuss.pixls.us/t/gmic-gegl-release-0-1-0

New G’MIC command: ▶️ random_patches ◀️ generates synthetic thumbnails with procedural geometric content (polygons, textures, colored backgrounds).Primarily designed for training neural networks (denoising, super-resolution…), and - unexpectedly - producing some playful, quite artistic visuals too 🤩

@Drayventhal A G'MIC command name cannot starts with a number and cannot contain blank characters 😅

@Drayventhal Yes, G'MIC commands can be actually seen as functions in a programming language. This is different from "filters'" (that are available in our plug-in G'MIC-Qt) which can have any name you want without limitation.

@Drayventhal Yes, indeed, the G'MIC engine is actually a complete scripting language, and all filters we provide are written in this language. But there are also many commands/functions that are not used in filters and that may be of interest to the user (especially from the G'MIC CLI interface).A good way to learn more is to read the tutorial available on our website: ▶️ https://gmic.eu/tutorial/😉

@zalakkain Por casualidad, ¿es uno de los filtros G'MIC? Parece uno de los filtros de suavizado que tenemos en nuestro pequeño complemento :)
