       @elijah_ryu@spectra.videoSocial media is always going to feel like a popularity contest at times. Real life can be like that too. We care about what other people think, and enjoy a little sunshine to nurture positive growth. But I don't think the human brain is ready for the internet. It's too much too soon. The more we spend life in the real world instead of online, I think the happier we'll be.

       Just a quick upload of the auroras tonight in Arctic Norway. January 11 2026. There's a hint of twilight still giving some blue to the sky. We've been watching the auroras dance for an hour or more, since 4pm. It's been a big week, but this little sequence was one of my favourites. It feels like the planet is reaching out to embrace us.

       Early evening on January 11.The auroras had started early and gone hard on this evening. We'd been shooting since 4pm, with a short break for dinner, and by 9:30pm myself and my buddy were getting pretty exhausted. So were the auroras.        @donatellaincali Lofoten/Narvik/Tromsø are right along the aurora oval. They get the best shows. Lots of nice places to stay in all these areas and beautiful scenery. Oct/Nov are very quiet, and great for auroras.

       January 23 2026 – Captured in Arctic Norway near Narvik.I went back to these frames over and over to try and remove the strong purple, but it's really there. It's been somewhat baffling to me in the past week just how much purple is turning up during certain aurora events. I've been shooting auroras for 15 years and never seen so much of it. I used to associate the purple hues as "I've got the colour balance wrong". But it's genuine. It's part of the phenomenon. Green is the default, and red is the fringe. But some nights purple comes in where the red misses out.It's a little more than just "Red + Blue = Purple".        January 15 2026 - Arctic Norway near NarvikWe're just a few weeks away from our workshop arriving here in Arctic Norway, and we're warming up with some super nights of Nordlys. It's been a cracking good season so far. This sequence is over an hour of aurora dancing from last night, captured on the TT Artisan 11mm F2.8 Fisheye lens and the Lumix S9 in time-lapse mode.#EwenTube #Photography #Auroras #Norway #EwenInNorway #FishEye #11mmEdit: This video didn't sync through from YouTube a few weeks back, so am posting a fresh copy here now. Interesting challenge shooting with the fisheye lenses. They're cheap, but they're a handful to tame!
