       Sent my public #Pixelfed profile to my sister the other day. "Ohhh, what is this, is this like a social media where they don't track you? Because I am so tempted to give up Instagram. This is so cute!" My sister is in no way a tech nerd or particularly big on data privacy, and has been a heavy user of Instagram for as long as I can remember.There are so many people out there who want to post photos and videos important to them online, but are jaded by #Instagram.

       I’m really grateful that I can support some of my favourite open source projects and contributors this year. Seeing many of my (proprietary) work apps filling up with useless AI garbage, it’s so exciting to see you making software that truly opens doors for people.
