       It's time for our annual user support drive to prepare for 2025 on c18.masto.host! Our server costs are $39 per month, $468 for the year, and I have been, as always, prepared to pay for half of that. I take no payment for administrating this server, and consider this work and half our server costs to be my service to eighteenth-century studies, providing us with an ad-free home in the Fediverse.        We are on the Constellation plan on Masto, and last year we were able to get enough donations to pay for Elastic Search, which is an additional $120 per year. Although we don't have 500 active members, we are limited to the Constellation plan because our members prefer a much longer file retention period for media--something I appreciate also. Contributions from members will help support this continued access to media files. If we meet a donation goal of $348, we will keep Elastic search.

       Next May 13-15, 2026, Prof. Aminah Hasan-Birdwell and I will be hosting a workshop on Slavery and Abolition in 18th-Century Philosophy at Emory U. in Atlanta, Georgia. https://forms.gle/wTC7DqNgHQE3dpT58 We expect to have about 15-20 participants, and we are seeking funding for travel support for participants who need it.        For the above workshop, we have confirmed that our keynote address will be given by Robert Bernasconi (Penn State) and that our two plenary lectures will be given by Huaping Lu-Adler (Georgetown) and Tacuma Peters (Hunter).
