@juhele @gcluley I'm using Office 2002. I couldn't stand the change they made in the newer versions - that stupid bar thing at the top.Graham, if he's still reading this thread, is probably laughing his ass off that somebody is lecturing *me* about macros.Users don't give a shit about OpenDocument or OLE2 or whatever document standard or blackbox features - they only care if and how well the product works.

@gcluley Peter Norton is an urban legend, like the alligators in the New York City sewers.

@gcluley The same area of Texas experienced severe flooding in 1932, 1973, 1978, 1987, 1991, and 1997. San Antonio/Central Texas experienced a catastrophic flood in 1921, with the San Antonio River flooding the following year and once more in 1998. The Blanco River experienced a significant flooding event in 2015.Damn space lasers are being over-used...

@gcluley Why do you need to hand your name, address, and contact details to a grocery store when buying a banana? You're not buying a handgun, ferkrissake.

@gcluley Your nan has learned to ignore the ads printed on the shopping bags. What makes you think that she won't ignore this one too?

@gcluley The problem is NOT the public sector bodies, Graham. Yes, it's stupid - but the government is free to do to itself whatever stupidity it wants, as far as I am concerned. The problem is that they also want to ban ransom payments for the *critical infrastructure*!"Sorry, guv, this emergency hospital has been ransomwared and a quick resolution is now illegal. Please go die somewhere else."

@gcluley Be advised, the Brave browser reports the decryptor as dangerous and deletes it after download. This is, of course, a false positive - but I don't know what exactly is causing it.

@gcluley "Fallen victim to hackers" is an interesting way of saying "Put its database full of private info directly on the Internet, unencrypted, and with no authentication whatsoever".As an aside, you know what is going to happen with all those databases of age verification data for children, right?

@gcluley Should have been fined that much just for sending that many messages - even if the messages said only "Happy New Year".

@gcluley Bans are never a good thing but if we have to start banning video surveillance in public spaces, how about we start with London?

@gcluley How to properly redact documents (and maximally annoy their readers):1. Print the document on paper.2. Glue non-transparent pieces of paper over the parts you want redacted.3. Scan the resulting document, saving each page as an *image* (e.g., JPG).4. Embed the images into a PDF file.

@gcluley Aw, c'mon these are the NoName kids. Incompetent, low IQ, bad opsec. They're just a mild annoyance. Russia has much more competent outfits that companies should worry about.

@gcluley I would not sign up to *anything* that requires me to send them an ID over the Internet. Hell, I recently closed a bank account because it required that.
