       Hello Chaos!Since I just moved from #Fosstodon, here's a little re-#introduction:I'm a German web developer mostly living the rural life in Spain, growing vegetables and making #OliveOil, while surrounded by #chickens and #goats, but I also spend some time back home in deepest Bavaria each year.Before that I lived in the UK for 23 years, studying #SoundEngineering, working at and then running a #CommunityRadio station and volunteering at a #CSA (community-supported agriculture) project 1/2

       I've been listening to #RadioFreeFedi all day during #OliveHarvest, but couldn't use my phone's touchscreen while wearing gloves, so I thought it'd be a great day for field testing my #RFF display prototype, using a #Pimoroni Pico Inky Pack E-paper display for the #RaspberryPiPico.It shows the currently playing track, lets me switch between main, comfy and specialty, and I can generate a QR code to take me straight to the artist profile or their music.#ThickTrunkTuesday #MicroPython #Olives

       This morning's impromptu village #RepairCafe mainly consisted of a "broken" Microwave.Turns out all that's wrong with it seemed to be its internal fuse. I happened to have just the right slow blow 8A fuse in my toolbox, so it was a 5 minute fix (followed by a 30 minute grime removal - that microwave had seen things!)I then gave it a bit of a longer stress test to see if the fuse would trip again.Lo and behold the microwave stopped working after a couple of minutes!😭 Just when I was...1/2

       2/2about to open up the now super clean but clearly not fixed microwave again it started working again!Somehow I had overlooked that we had a brief power cut, and there wasn't actually anything wrong with the repaired microwave.When I was going to return the microwave the owner admitted they had already bought a replacement, as they assumed it was unfixable.So instead of returning it it will now have a new lease of life at the village charity sale.#Electronics #RightToRepair #RepairCafe

       @_elena @aprilorg @CauseCommune Maybe @dlikdh who co-runs libre music directory @clongclongmoo has some recommendations?Alternatively, one can search by genre (and license), eg https://www.clongclongmoo.org/tag/folk/(sadly there is no way of filtering only Fedi artists though afaik)Also, at Fedi music directory https://indieart.support you can filter the genre and each resulting artist card has their license and Fedi handle displayed...
