@Tutanota On monday I was so angry after I saw the stuff on my computer after I did a lazy new installation of Windows that I immediately switched to Linux. It feels good without Microsoft. The thing that I still have to do is cancel my accounts and move over to European alternatives (although my browser is Japanese now but that's okay.)

@saalbers @jmaris @kde And even if you have nearly zero IT knowledge: If you are fed up enough with Microsoft you are able to make the switch to Linux. I did it. And if I can do it as a middle age woman with little IT knowledge then everybody can!

@Tutanota Firefox? Not sure about that. I use Floorp, based on Firefox but only because I am too stupid to get Mullvad running. Librewoolf, Vivaldi and Waterfox are also alternatives to consider.

@Tutanota Right. If somebody says something like that to me I always abswer that I also have nothing to hide. But that doesn't mean that you can breach my privacy, come into my home, sniff out every tiny detail of my life to sell me crap or scam me.

@_elena Totally. I already thought for a long time that AI is a trojan horse: They lure us in with making tasks easier and fun pictures while stealing our work, stealing our data, get better at selling us crap, and building in incredibly vast surveillance network. Why else would shareholders continue to throw money into the pit?

@_elena Definitely. I never used that nonsense but maybe only because I am too old for that trend. And then people kept telling me to stop the scepticism and negativity about new tech. But nobody seems to care about privacy anymore.

@Tutanota I left Windows a couple of months ago and I regret nothing. My son on the other hand wanted to stay with windows, upgraded and is complaining ever since.

@Tutanota So, if they are paid by Big Tech it's fine. if they think that we are paid by Big Tech (how?? How?) then they have to do everything in their power to push through their policies because democracy. Right? Sorry, I am confused.

@Tutanota You want to open my private mail too? Are we all criminals now that have to be controlled? Oh, we think the wrong things now, right? WTF is wrong with those politicians - who are probably deep in some tech-bros pockets anyways? I bet they are lamenting about their privacy as soon as their private space is breached.
