Old pinned picture from my old (now abandoned) twitter that I really wanted to keep here.Tried my best to fit all the sayings and remarks in the alt text, but had to cut some of it to fit in 1500 characters (all the sayings should be in there though).

@pixelfed ah yes, they stopped 'fact checking' but they do have time to try and 'damage control' the news of the mass exodus without much success, goes to show where their priorities are

I just had to upload this myself so I could pin it.I think it's a really important message beyond just the fact that computers and networks are an amazing gift to society, I think it's equally or more important to note that conformity is a curse. We should all be able to have our own opinions and ways to view the world, without being resented for it, without being cast out for it.It's diversity and inclusion that make this world a greater place; not some narrative that disagreement is wrong

@dansup why hide it away behind a menu rather than just adding it as a smaller button if you really insist on this?not a fan of centralizing the fediverse, it has all the same problems as the rest of non-federated social media; as someone with experience here if anything you should know better than this.

@arstechnica ok but it's my airport tho, and we're not flying, or creating potential hazards up in the airgood thing I run custom roms that don't care about these shenanigans I guess

Dear anti-AI folk: I hear you, but, please please please, complain about lacking laws and regulations, complain about the specific things you don't like, because being "against AI" is tone deaf, it doesn't arrive and it's too generic to act upon.Whether #AI is here to stay I cannot predict, but in either case it's the boundaries we set right now that will be important for the coming decades/eons, so to actually exert control don't be against AI, be against lack of regulation and control thereof

@mntmn they both look very neat! I really wouldn't mind having the small version..can I ask a potentially stupid question though? i couldn't find anything about it on the website, but are there any plans for a more budget-friendly option? the milled aluminium case and mech keyboard look premium and slick asf, but i think a solid ABS plastic case and rubberdomes would be good enough for me, and 1k+ is a bit much for me to splurge on a super neat looking device that I technically don't need 😅

@Tutanota well if he believes that he's free to make 100% of his comms, private and work related, public.I am 100% sure he'll argue "but it's different for me", because types like that never believe they ought to suffer from the same thing they want to bring upon others.

@keepassxc For what it's worth, I think it's fine to use AI tools for reviewing; more eyes on the same code is only better.I do understand people's hesitation with actual generation of security-related code though. It's easy to overlook something like a bit vs byte error or off-by-one scenarios-- but then again, same could be said about human-generated code, and in the end extreme scrutiny with security projects is always important.. but I do get why people are more hesitant about generation.

@kde Nice work! Can't wait to see what the KDE developer community will create this coming year; it's been absolutely rocketing forward in terms of adoption, and I'm hearing a lot of praise from a lot of the new users!

@kde I have sent some to adopt Kinq Konq (or Konqisaurus if Konq is already taken)! .. Even though I already sent a whole bunch earlier, but damnit they're adorable, and I don't exactly think I'll regret sending more help towards the project I've used basically exclusively for the last 15 years :dragon_uwu: I'll also log in my work laptop and send a donation match through my employer, so you're getting double for this :drgn_fingergun:

@ancientjames I'm guessing this is a display panel of a phone or something alike and the do's and don'ts indicate places where you can apply pressure for mounting purposes?hard to say for sure, but I do think it could be real, but definitely one of those 'engineering charts that look like shitposts' situations :P

@ancientjames ohh for the handling, that makes sense, it did seem rather restrictive for a purely mounting scheme, but as a disclaimery human handling scheme it makes total sense
