I should kick off this thread with Archimedes, the #owl #CompanionBot in the first pic! Made him for #BayArea #MakerFaire in May '18, with a #RaspberryPi brain, then updated in '21 with an #Arduino for motor control.I've been working on smaller versions since then – including Nano'Medes here, with #origami wings – and plugging away at the new "Prince Stolas" version. Some solid points in here :)Personally, I also dislike unsolicited advice from friends and family IRL. If someone does it enough, it feels very condescending, so I bring it up, or eventually start to avoid them. IMO, if we all asked before giving advice (unless you know the person's prefs), many relationships would be smoother.But as I'm unusually sensitive to this, it's on me to be clear about when I do/don't want advice – and not drone on or complain abt projects 😅 https://social.afront.org/@MLE_online/114983397907141477
