the only AI i care about is NPC state machines in gameslike that shit is actually cool. how to mimic some behavior in games, but also keep it fun and engaging?how to create a day and night cycle that is believable but doesnt hinder player progress?how to make enemies in FPS games challenging without feeling like they cheat?all this stuff. it doesnt need bullshit generators, it needs a good plan and lots of code, performance testing, gameplay testing.. and its always so much more cool than whatever shitty clipart or hallucinated text your python script does.

"AI" is here to monetize the human insecurity.Most of the time i see people using "AI" generated pictures, text, code, whatever.. they mention they are "not good enough" to make their own.You don't have to be "good." You have to be you.These tools are feeding on your insecurity. They're there to monetize your insecurity. Many people are insecure. That is normal. You should not rely on magic machinations to wave your insecurity away. That way relies addiction to these tools, which will make your life more difficult when you dont use them.So instead, make your own lil stick figure drawings. Make pixel art in 16x16 grid for icons. Write that text the best way you can. Iterate on things, ask for help.The hurry to get things done is artificial. You can do it without the addiction to chatbots. Allow yourself to take time, instead of producing just for productions sake. Trust yourself to find the answers and to make a thing. You're way better than what the scum behind generative "AI" hype think about you. Don't sell your insecurity and brush it off. Face the facts and work on it.In art, authenticity, being yourself, creating things from your brain, using your own intelligence, is the main point. Not the quality of the finished piece. But your piece.You're allowed to fail. To err is human. And that is what makes it art. The happy little mistakes.

I say this as someone with zero artistic skills, yet I have made bunch of games with my own 3D models and textures, my own stories and writing, even my own sound effects and music.And they have done fine, all things considered.

I set my posts to delete after 3 months.I think I will seriously limit my fedi usage. Social media like this is not healthy. And I'm definitely addicted and it's making me grumpy.I will likely delete any apps I'm using for fedi and only use the web interface for now. I'm looking for 3D artists to make and rig me a model of my character (the anthro lizard i use everywhere) in Half-Life 2 era graphical style: doesnt need to be super high poly or anything, but not lowpoly PS1 either. And doesn't have to match HL2 exactly, I just don't know how to explain the "not high poly not low poly" lol. I want the game to look like something from mid/late 2000s. For those who were in my ScalieZone Matrix space, I've been closing the space down, and moving everything into one single room.I am actually not big fan of having multiple rooms, I just did it because it was expected.The space was rather quiet, so having multiple quiet rooms did not really add anything of value.Different clients still have weirdness and issues with spaces, for example joining/leaving everything in a space etc.I just don't have the energy to juggle multiple different rooms.I may want to bridge this room to IRC at some point.So if you got kicked out, that's because I'm closing it down. Don't worry, you did not do anything wrong! I think discord has taught many of us to follow this thing where we have topic for every single small thing. IMO it ruins the natural flow of conversations. I do understand separating like SFW and NSFW talk but in general it always seems like a hindrance.
