@mntmn Isn't a foldable phone from Apple confirmed now? So maybe this is just them trying to show off and cash in on the technology they had to develop to make it a reality. That or Tim Cook is desperate in trying to fill Jobs shoes. Maybe both.

@NiwlCraft Best to act like they are public already. Because they probably are if you play around with the protocols enough.

Reminder. It's soon October, which means it's soon time for all northern hemisphere dwellers to crawl into their #Book caves and not emerge again until Mars.#bookstodon

@mntmnSame as talpa mentions. But I'm also running NIxOS on one computer now which at least trivializes system setup as programs and their global configs are in one file: /etc/nix/configuration.nix.Haven't tried the tool (home manager?) for doing the same with your ~/.config/* yet.But Nix might be a bit much to learn just to make configs portable. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're open to joining the Nix cult.

@Ailantd That's FEI a deep space exploration vessel that has an oversized hangar for expanded probe storage. She's currently a bit lost after having to take a detour to dodge a sudden solar storm that fried some of her systems. The damage was repaired using parts from some of the probes but by then she had drifted off quite a bit.

@NiwlCraft How about a story about a nomad belonging to a small armed collective/village living hidden in the mountains on solarpower, hydro and hydrophonics. Listening on the world through radio and connecting to the rest of the world by piggy-backing on satelite up-link. The nomad is a wanted eco-terrorist that travels around where needed, talks to trees (they're a bit slow but when connected to fiber quite talkative) and dodges the remaining "societies" enforcers.I'd watch/read that.

@NiwlCraft I wouldn't translate 'jultomte' to christmas gnome. I would translate it to Santa. But the origin before the USAian influence grew big was probably 'hustomte' with is pretty much house gnome in the same sense as garden gnome. So... what ever. These infographics are always off in the details.

@NiwlCraft Firefox had a RSS button that showed a prettyfied RSS feed and easy to copy link. Which they removed a couple of years ago. Thunderbird was the RSS reader and possibly still is.Google reader was what we all used. It was perfect. Then google killed it and a bunch of inferiour alternatives showed up. But what really "killed it" was that no one could make money on it = no marketing budget. Many sites use it in their back end. But you don't know that until you find the magic URL.
