       I don't care who they are or if it loses you friends, if you're diving out of your own conversion straight into a strangers. I don't care if it ruins the rest of your night out for as long as it takes. You're the only person in that moment that can do anything about that bigotry from within the nasty little nest it's breeding in and you're likely the only kind of person they will even listen to or not harm for speaking up.2/

       At worse they'll have egg on their face, at best they'll haunt themselves with that moment towards changing and feel more unsafe spouting their hate in the meantime but literally nothing will happen if you do literally nothing. You've got that privileged platform you've been coasting on your whole life right there in the room so damn well use it for something good.        Did you know more often than not if you're a white service provider (I do consumer IT) in an role that can sometimes involve receiving tips, if you call in a nicey-nice brand of casual racist they usually give you a guilt tip at the end? They don't describe that's what made them feel obliged to, but they panic inside and are typically also money-as-influence oriented presumably from poisonous tabloids and think on their feet. 1/2

       Just had some AI bro talking my ear off on the phone about his "monster rig" that would usually be used for crypto mining asking repeatedly if I do microsoldering services to mash a bunch of GPU chips together.Meanwhile, I missed two phonecalls from other customers coming in because I was trying to find a polite way of saying "get all the way fucked and don't call me again about this nonsense".
