If I'm not following you even though we are/where mutuals on Twitter or are otherwise acquainted, drop me a note. I am extremely bad at recognizing or keeping track of pseudonyms, I'm afraid.

"The Hollow Men of Silicon Valley":https://www.techdirt.com/2025/02/25/the-hollow-men-of-silicon-valley/This is articulating a couple of points that have been on my mind as well.I get incredibly frustrated and depressed when I hear tech-people dispassionately argue the merits of authoritarianism. And when I get frustrated, people tell me to calm down. But anger is the correct response to authoritarianism.Any conversation about why and how and what is happening e.g. in the US *must* start with empathy for the real suffering caused.

It's what *really* pisses me off about the shamefully common argument here in Europe that "well, the US needs a revolution to fix their broken democracy, at least it might happen now".It completely fails to take into account the actual harm done by revolutions and who that harm tends to fall on. And all the people who will suffer on the path there.

@davidrevoy @ms_zwiebel @creativecommons My understanding is `ai=n` would mean to disallow any use by AI, no?That is, the IETF AI preference standard already gives you the way to do a blanket yes/no-AI statement. The CC signals thing is just to then add fine-grained exceptions in case the use is contributed back. That seems fine to me. I would still just set `ai=n`, but I can't see the harm in allowing people to opt-in to use under specific conditions.
