This is horrible for consumer choices, for security, for privacy, for resilience, and just leads to more enshitification everywhere once people are locked in systems without viable alternatives. We need much more options, everywhere. Celebrate and encourage diversity. In tech, and everywhere else. #Tech

It's incredible to me how we gave up on so many aspects of privacy in the past five years. Things that we were taking for granted not long ago. Now, some think it's totally normal to record others without their consent in any contexts. People feel entitled to others' images and personal lives, incessantly demanding access to it. Everyone needs to share everything publicly online or be deemed suspicious, and excluded. This has greatly errored the fabric of social relationships and trust in our societies. There is so much we need to do to heal this culture and the damages that have been done and continue to be done. We need to treat each other with respect. Genuine respect as human beings. And consent, true consent with true choices, is at the center of that. #Privacy #HumanRights #Consent

I don't understand how the people who want to protect their own sensitive information from corporations in order to stay safe and not become victims are deemed paranoid, But the corporations demandingto verify our identity asking for our legal name, gender, sex, date of birth, email, phone number, home address, location, IP address, MAC address, list of apps, purchase history, access to contacts, device model, official ID, passport, birth certificate, fingerprints, facial scan, palm scan, iris scan, preferred sleeping side, and underwear color are not? 🤨#Privacy

Let's be clear: What they want is privacy for the monarchs and nobles, and to remove it entirely from the peasants. Because they want to control the peasants. They want to control us, entirely. We never left feudalism, the monarchs and nobles simply changed their titles and fashion, while letting us believe we could become one of them someday. But we will always remain exploitable and expendable peasants to them. We cannot wait after them to improve our lives. Privacy makes it safe for you to discuss, to organize, to resist, and to be your true self. This is exactly why fascists and authoritarians are attacking it. You can refuse to provide official ID or biometric data for social media accounts requiring age verification. Actually, I bet if everyone did refuse, and let their account dormant for a couple of weeks, you would suddenly see American Big Tech transforming into the fiercest defender of your privacy rights, using their powerful network of lobbyists to fight these invasive government regulations. It's always the responsibility of the people in a position of privilege to stop the oppression they are benefiting from. If you are part of a privileged group, in one way or another, get to it.
