Whatever ecofriendly/less polluting item you push for, be it via tax credits to get an item or banning what is deemed "worse", has to fit 3 basic criterion for it to hold as fair/reasonable: 1. It needs to thoroughly be proven, with full supply chains tracked in the item & it's replacement, that whatever is being pushed is in fact " better" in that regard.2. The replacement item needs to work just as well for it's tasks as what it's replacing, without negative health/medical effects to product users.3. It's financial cost to consumers isn't prohibitively expensive in comparison. (This isn't to say that no cost raise is acceptable but for a comparable use time as what it's replacing, it can't be double or more the price.) #EnvironmentalProtection

If your settings &/or history don't allow me to have any posts of yours I can actually read (regardless of language) and especially if your profile is in only one language & it's one I don't know, beyond lacking posts, then I'm not going to approve your request to follow me, nor will I follow you, until & unless at least the lacking posts problem is solved.

@Tutanota adding pass phrases as an option to logins, for greater security & #DisabilityAccessibility at the same time.

I've yet to see/read of a single explanation as to why private jetplanes are necessary & all their useage produces more greenhouse gas emissions than all cars do, hence I'm of the ilk, that if any vehicle should be banned, it is said aircraft. #ClimateChange

I don't think I've ever seen an item/action that actually passes these criterion, including electric cars, electric mowers, single use plastic bag bans, bamboo disposable utensils/bowls/plates/towels & more than a few others....To be clear: I'm not at all against changing items if better really are developed & I'm not at all denying that pollution problems don't & overuse of raw materials doesn't happen, but coercion &/or forcing people to use new(er) technologies that don't meet the above 3 criteria is wrong.

@Tutanota Electronic Frontier Foundation, because unlike the others listed here & many more I've seen, they include #DisabilityAccessibility as an element of digital freedom. Most groups & individuals I've encountered view it as a "choice" & thusly disabilities as prisons disabled people aren't allowed to leave.

Starting to actively look for information about & from other #Jewish #Homesteaders, so far I've basically just found #books from or on it as it existed about 150 years ago, a video or 2 of an introduction &/or Kosher animal slaughter on a farm but.. even as I'll likely order as many of those as I can over the next few year, I'm definitely looking for more information. One of the problems with the videos I've seen of Christian homesteaders is beyond animal slaughter itself is so many recipes

and cooking methods that are just not compatible with a Kosher diet& similar holds on food preservation. Overall I'm realizing that since I never use dairy in food preservation nor preserve it beyond freezing/refrigeration, I can keep all the canning supplies & canners as meat& parve, possibly setting size differences between meat& parveIf I didn't have separate dishes, cookware & utensils for everything else- then different designs or colors wouldn't really be needed but I do, so they are

@Tutanota I generally compare you to Proton which remains decent but you've surpassed, not Gmail or outlook which are garbage but nonetheless you deserve a congratulations for this.

I overall think the #OpenSource technology world/sphere is about 70% there in development of systems, that everyone can use with a reasonable amount of effort, but the lapse set is affordability and #DisabilityAccessibility (mostly for mobility issues). Likewise it's mostly in the #Hardware not #software nor #OS spheres, (70/10/20 split) which is why not finding much if any chatter on the Hardware problems is so disheartening, because it needs the most work.

@Tutanota @volla @Fairphone @murena They're essentially all the same design, which is to say multiple camera having, GPS, AIs in the form of digital assistants embedded in them & none have physical keyboards, only Volla is military grade durable in said hardware, but it doesn't work in my country. So for my long-term needs in any smartphone I'd pay for, as they'd work for me year-round, which include having a physical keyboard, no AI and durability, none of these are real options. Diversity in hardware is needed in the open source sphere, for widespread adoption to be possible. #DisabilityAccessibility #OpenSourceHardware #deGoogled*I know what amounts to an open source version of a blackberry smartphone does exist, as I believe sliders (with full keyboards & bigger screens than blackberry) do, both being durable but I've yet to see any #deGoogled phones in those different design categories.

@Tutanota plasticized paper maps, street/road signs, and your actual memory. After possibly using any online search system for "step by step" and writing or printing that out, is better than anything on a mobile electronic device.

@_elena if I can't trust a storage system without a backup storage system, then there's no point in using the claimed solution of a storage system to begin with. This is why I moved away from Google initially, to avoid cloud storage systems, none of which I've seen are secure & reliable.

@_elena You're skipping my point entirely. A main purpose to me of selfhosting is to have a system for keeping sensitive documents safe & accessible to me(like medical records which are ridiculously hard for me to get & even harder for me to organize as there's now so many pages of them, with medical centers continually failing in this realm in terms of actually letting me see my own records, hence my paper copies), so if the system I use requires an electronic backup then it's a pointless endeavor to begin with.
