       @davidrevoy The viewpoint of the 4th panel is from one of the boats/ships.You can now clearly see that this boat and seemingly all the others nearby are just ghosts on their ghost ships (maybe even from different eras).In the background you see the siren on her rock and behind her some actual remains of wrecked ships, making it obvious while the siren is playing for their otherworldly crowd, she's growing it because the living are getting shipwrecked.
