Self-Description: The Progressive Labor Party (PLP) "fight[s]
directly for communism The two-stage idea of first socialism, then communism,
led back to capitalism Communism means the Party leads every aspect of society."
Comments: Was official Maoist party in '60s. Was one-half of SDS.
Supported Chinese ultraleft and broke with Maoism when Mao shut down Red
Guards. Current incorrect, idealist positions on socialism and the role
of the party exacerbated by the PLP's incorrect political economy and factual
analysis.
