Self-Description: Declaration signed by parties from several nations
in 1984 upholds the Cultural Revolution Journal claims to end international
confusion since Mao died in 1976.
Comments: The Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM) contains
both Maoist and pseudo-Maoist parties and is led by the crypto-Trotskyist
RCP through the Committee of the RIM (CoRIM). MIM polemicized with the RIM
as early as 1989, and has yet to receive a response. The CoRIM consistently
makes the error of hegemonism calling the RIM the "emerging political
center of the international communist movement despite Mao's rejection of
the idea of an international center or party.
Further Info: "MIM's RCP Study Pack," $15; Maoist
Sojourner, April 1996, June 1996 $1 each; "Reject the Outdated
Idea of an Emerging International Center," MIM
Notes 105; "On Peru and the RIM" in
MT12 ($6).
