So what do we mean by "agitation"? MIM's principal tasks in the imperialist
countries today are to build public opinion for the just struggles of the
oppressed, and to build independent institutions of the oppressed to seize state
power. As we pursue these tasks we must remain true to the principles of anti-
imperialism and anti-militarism that must guide all revolutionary politics
within imperialist borders. So we must shake up public opinion, stir up
political consciousness, agitate for social change and the end of oppression.
So have a look around and come back often. This page will lead you to detailed information and analysis of MIM's current and ongoing political campaigns, MIM positions on current events, and past efforts. If you are looking to get active with the MIM-led united front, you should pick up some ideas here, and get in touch. If you are looking for some coverage you don't see, send us mail. Maybe this is work in progress, or maybe it's something we could really use your help with. |
Support the Revolution in the Philippines
The united $tates has abused the Philippines as a source of cheap profits and raw
materials. U.$. intervention in the Philippines began with a decade-long war
at the turn of the century, in which the u.$. military killed 600,000 Filipinos.
U.$. economic and political hegemony in the Philippines today is marked by extreme
poverty, with 70% of the population suffering from malnourishment. Ultimately, the
best aid anti-imperialists in the u.$. can give anti-imperialists in the Philippines
is to build a strong anti-imperialist movement and opposition to Amerikan occupation
of the Philippines here in u.$. borders.
End the Amerikan Lockdown!
In 1999 MIM is initiating an annual month of protest against the Amerikan criminal
injustice system that will continue into the new millenium. This call for protests
against the Amerikan Lockdown is joined by the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League
and United Struggle from Within, an anti-imperialist organization of prisoners led
by MIM. MIM's work with prisoners and in opposition to the prisons branch of
Amerikan imperialism continues in force throughout the year.
