Mark Flowers was born in Iowa City , Iowa in 1955 but lived in South Carolina most of his life. He is a son of an artist and has taught art on the college and high school levels. He has a BFA in Art Studio from University of South Carolina, and an MFA in Painting from Western Michigan University. Presently, he teaches and makes art along with his wife, Kristy Higby, at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, PA.
