The one across the table from me
smells of rain as she excuses herself
and passes by.
Too much of one thing,
not enough of another
someone sums up the state
of affairs in Argentina
and I am awaiting her return.
Deciding it worth the risk
I order another drink while
on campuses all across the country
young boys shoot their mouths off
for lack of anything better to shoot.
She slips between tables
as my entire being
casts its vote for trouble.
I'll not deny desiring her.
