Thank you for your interest in The Paumanok Review, a quarterly e-zine dedicated to promoting bygone standards of excellence in art and writing.

If you would like to submit a manuscript for consideration by TPR, please read and carefully follow the submission guidelines:

Manuscripts should be submitted withing the body of an e-mail, or as attachments (TEXT, WORD PERFECT 3.0, NISUS WRITER, CLARISWORKS/APPLEWORKS, .MCW) and should be readable on my Macintosh. .DOC, .EXE, or similar Windows-only formats are not acceptable. Submissions included in the e-mail are strongly preferred.

A cover sheet should either preceed the manuscript or be included in the e-mail. This should include your name, two methods of contact (of which one is an e-mail address), a brief biographical note, the title and category of your submission, and where you discovered The Paumanok Review.

Manuscripts should be in standard format, and should be marked as submitted in one of four categories:

• Short Story (2,000-6,000 words)
  Mainstream, narrative, experimental, historical, mystery, horror, western, science fiction, slice-of-life vignette, serial, novel excerpt. This category is fairly open, but I am not interested in gay/lesbian, erotica, or pornography.
• Short Short Story (200-2,000 words)
  See above for forms.
• Poetry (100 lines max; up to 5 poems per submission)
  This category is extremely open. Plath? Tennyson? You are welcome here.
• Essay (6,000 words max.)
  Satirical, personal, narrative, historical, serial. Surprise me, move me. Don't be afraid of being profound.

Response times may vary, but I usually give notice within one to two weeks.
