I'm part of the silent majority - I've been reading
the posts on this list for several months.

The next little while is measured in months, so why worry.
LanCity just released a good cable modem for $595 (a
friend's father co-designed it so it must be good ;->),
and I have looked at phone and cable company initiatives
re cable. Within 3 months some people will be able to look
at your vr art at 3mbs or more. And vr art will obviously
be a favorite (as it is new anyway and gains most from
the extra bandwidth). From various (reasonably credible)
sources I have found estimates that within 12 months cable
modems will have dropped to around $200-400, service will
be $30 per month unlimited access, and service will be
widely available especially in major US cities.
