This would indicate that in practice, there is no difference between
the computer generated and the human generated compliments. I
recognized the compliments as "meaningful," because they had the
standard structure of some well known compliments. i.e.
Your eyes are so ... that ....
Your voice is as a ....
Your fingers are as ... as ....
Your cleverness ....
In the latter case, "Your cleverness ferments meat without the need of
oxygen." I have to wonder if the latter part of the sentence was a
single unit generated by a human.
One thing that makes all of this work, is that contextually speaking,
we know that we are supposed to be receiving complements. Perhaps if
a user is told that there's a certain way they are supposed to look at
things, then their perception of story will be held together much more
concretely than if they were to simply walk in without knowing "what's
going on."
