The Wheels of Dharma

Poem by Lloyd Michael Lohr

I have walked hand in hand with an ancient Goddess from Anatolia,
and sang with her banshees in the shadow of the standing stones,
I have cast the bone runes onto the barren ground in a chance to
see my fate,
I have danced with Chaldean moon spirits and learned from their
subtle grace.

I rolled the bones with a nomad Shaman's daughter,
I chanted with monks in Tibet for a year and a day,
I bathed in the sacred waters of the river Ganges,
and found the Devi while searching for The Way.

From these travels I discovered the seed of wisdom's measure,
a single leaf of knowledge,
a mantra to treasure,
I waited till the moon eclipsed full,
and the planets aligned in a row,
then I pressed the leaf into the book of remembrance for safe
keeping,
as I continued to watch the wheel of life spin and the river of
time gently flow.

All the while feeling the baneful eyes of Ahriman upon my
shoulder.*
