Frightful Night
by Sheri White
When I go to sleep at night
My dreams are scary,
Fraught with fright.
Wasps get tangled in my hair,
Clowns frolic fiendishly
In the frigid, dark air.
Goblins through my window peer;
A man with an axe
Knows what I fear.
But I'd never trade these dreams of mine
For the blissful dreams
Most others find.
These are dreams that help me to write;
Inspiration for stories
Best read by bright light.
