LQUIZ(6) GAMES AND DEMOS LQUIZ(6) NAME lquiz - Drill in Latin verbs, nouns and pronouns SYNOPSIS lquiz [-v -no_subj -no_pass -no_irreg -n -p -l -e -h] DESCRIPTION This program drills the user in Latin verb conjugations and noun/pronoun declensions. You must specify one of the options -v, -n or -p to select the verb, noun or pronoun quiz. If invoked without any options, lquiz prompts you to select one mode. It then prompts the user with a question expecting a single answer in Latin e.g. What is the Imperfect Indicative Active of the verb sum? or What is dative plural of the feminine form of 'is' (that)? lquiz tells the correct answer whenever you type a bare new line or the character 'n' (for next question) or a '?'. If you type the character 'a' then all the conjugations or declensions of that form are printed e.g. for bellum this gives : Second Declension: bellum bella bellum bella belli bellorum bello bellis bello bellis If you type 'q' or upon interrupt, lquiz reports a score and terminates. With the -l switch, lquiz prompts the user with a Latin verb /noun in a particular tense/mood/voice/person but it does not expect a correct answer. Instead if you press return, the tense/mood etc is revealed. Typing q also quits but no score is printed out. E.g. fecerint ? Future Perfect Indicative Active - 3rd p. pl.(they) Perfect Subjunctive Active - 3rd p. pl.(they) facio facere feci factum < to make, form, do > When in Verbs mode (-v switch) one can optionally exclude all irregular verbs (-no_irreg switch), all verbs in the subjunctive mood (-no_subj switch) or verbs in the passive voice (-no_pass switch).
