Bmp Welcomes N-SOUL Artists
September 19, 1994
La Mirada, CA--BMP Artist Management has signed GINA and THE PRIVATE BOIZ to 
concert, booking, and promotion deals. Both groups record for Scott 
Blackwell's N-Soul Records. BMP will also be handling the radio promotion 
for the new GINA single, her first since the highly successful _NITRO 
PRAISE_ Project.

BMP has released former Frontline recording artist PETER SHAMBROOK from his 
booking and promotion deal as of July. Shambrook is currently performing in 
clubs and showcases in and around Los Angeles, and has expressed interest in 
a secular recording deal.

ForeFront Releases DC Talk's "Narrow is the Road"
Nashville, TN--Since DC Talk's inception fans have been craving to know more 
about these three innovative men from Washington, D.C. From director Ken 
Carpenter at Intaligio Productions, comes the first full length in-depth 
look at Toby, Michael and Kevin. this film captures the essence of DC Talk's 
ministry, by giving you a backstage pass to one of the hottest Christian 
tours ever, the "Free At Last World Tour." You'll go behind the scenes with 
the guys as they meet with one of the most respected evangelists of all 
time, Billy Graham, as well as their meeting with Contemporary Christian 
Music legend Larry Norman.
This documentary includes footage from the band's visit to the maximum 
security prison where the music video "The Hardway" was filmed plus the 
critically acclaimed acoustic set the includes covers of U2's "Forty" and 
Larry Norman's "Wish We'd All Been Ready."

Lightshine Update September 29, 1994

SARDONYX is on hiatus as of August 27, 1994. The guys have decided to put 
the band on hold while they focus on other matters. Six years of weekend 
practices and shows has taken its toll. Please pray for the band members and 
their families, as well as for wisdom as the ministry shifts gears. Jeff 
King resigned from the band. He is enrolled in his third year of college at 
Millersville University. He covets your prayers, especially for his 
Classical Greek course! Rod Feltman is leaving the door open for the future, 
but felt that he has to refocus his life at this point. He left Sardonyx on 
the same day as Jeff. Rod has been working three jobs to provide for his 
family and his St. Bernard (you know how much they can eat!). He has also 
expressed some interest in becoming more active in local ministry. Thanks go 
out to our road crew at the last show. The tear down time of six minutes 
could be a record. Paul Graham and Jeff Ney were on hand to help out. Paul 
and Erik handed out some Sacrament stuff to people in the audience. Special 
thanks to Erik for filling in so well and best wishes on his college 
experience. Paul and his wife Anessa are expecting their first child at the 
end of the year. Jody Shue has resigned her position as the Merchandise 
Administrator. Nancy Martin and Lori Haas will assume her duties. We want to 
thank Jody for all of her diligent work over the years.


Word Press Release--Miss America 1994-A Sandi Patty Fan

(Nashville, TN) - 9/21/94- At the Miss America Pageant on September 17th in 
Atlantic City, NJ, Miss Alabama, Heather Whitestone, was announced as a top 
ten finalist. Kathie Lee Gifford introduced her during the talent 
competition and said she was dancing to Sandi Patty's "Via Dolorosa." The 
song is from the gold album _The Finest Moments_. Her routine was 
beautifully done, and what made it even more special was the fact that 
Heather Whitestone is deaf. With the help of her hearing aid, she memorized 
the beat, and "felt the rhythm in her heart." As she said during her 
interview, she wanted to praise God through her dancing. As a wonderful 
ending to the evening, Miss Alabama became the 1994 Miss America. Sandi 
Patty was thrilled and honored for her song to be a part of the show, but 
more importantly to have been an inspiration in Heather Whitestone's life. 
She said, "The song "Via Dolorosa" has always been a favorite of mine and to 
have it used in such a special way is very meaningful. I congratulate 
Heather on such a magnificent accomplishment."

Word Press Release--Word Records Honors Point Of Grace
(September, 1994)--At a celebration in Nashville recently, Point Of Grace 
was honored for their unprecedented success in Contemporary Christian Music. 
The group's self-titled debut album was released in October 1993 and, after 
only 6 months in the marketplace, Point Of Grace was named New Artist Of The 
Year at 1994's Dove Awards. The group also received the New Artist Of The 
Year Award and was nominated as Group Of The Year at the American Christian 
Music Awards at Walt Disney World on September 12. Coinciding with the 
awards show, Point Of Grace was chosen as featured performers at Walt Disney 
World's Night Of Joy concerts in Orlando that same week.
Point Of Grace is one of the strongest-selling debut artists in Christian 
music history, averaging 5000 units in sales per week. The group's premiere 
project has sold over 150,000 units in ten short months and, as of late 
August, Epic Records has begun distribution of Point Of Grace product into 
the mainstream marketplace.
Point Of Grace is currently in the studio working on a new record to be 
released in March, 1995.

Larnelle Harris To Undergo Surgery This Winter
Nashville, TN -- Five-time Grammy and 10-time Dove winner, Larnelle Harris, 
is scheduled to undergo hip replacement surgery this December. Due to the 
hospitalization and subsequent recovery period, Harris will be absent from 
this year's Young Messiah Tour for the first time since the tour's inception 
in 1990.
Norman Miller, producer for the Young Messiah Tour, stated: "The entire 
Young Messiah team of artists and support staff will very much miss Larnelle 
on this year's Young Messiah Tour. We wish him a speedy recovery and look 
forward to him rejoining us in "95."
"The Young Messiah Tour has always been one of the highlights of my year," 
says Harris, from his home in Louisville, Kentucky. "The doctors tell me I 
will have about a 12-week recovery period, but I look forward to being back 
on the road early next spring. " In addition to the Young Messiah Tour, 
Harris performs approximately 150 concerts per year.
One of only three artists to win five Grammy Awards in contemporary 
Christian music, Harris has amassed fourteen #1 radio singles, 15 chart-
topping albums and numerous other accolades, including 10 Dove Awards, over 
the past 25 years. The prestigious Silver Bell Award was given to Harris by 
the Ad Council for his involvement in the Points Of Light Foundation, which 
supported the longest-running PSA in the history of television featuring one 
of Harris' songs.
1994 marks Harris' silver anniversary in gospel music for which he has been 
honored with special recognitions by both the Gospel Music Association and 
the Christian Artists Seminar.

INDlE EMPIRE--Indie Empire is a new sublabel of Metro One which is 
completely run by interns who volunteer their time and energy for the 
propagation of the Gospel through music. Each intern at Indie Empire 
contributes time and talent to the production of these projects. Our vision 
is to promote various independent artists through compilation projects in 
order to obtain more recognition for their music ministry. August 25, 1994 
marks Indie Empire's first release Microphone Theology. Twelve talented 
Gospel rappers are featured on this compilation. Heading up the list are 
veteran rappers: SEC, Evangelist M.C., and E-roc. Accompanying them-- 
include such talents as 5.5. Mob, D.J. Rubadub, Fros'T, and others. Also 
look for the following upcoming releases: an alternative/rock compilation, 
and adult contemporary/country compilation, and an international praise 
compilation. Indie Empire is accepting demos towards future releases.

The time is quickly approaching for T-BONE's new album, _Tha Life of a 
Hoodlum_, to be released. These "Prime T-BONE Cuts" will be the most 
progressive this Christian market has ever heard. Produced once again by 1-A 
Posse, it will be PHAT! Have you heard a copy of his 2-song pre-release 
cassette single featuring the raw mixes of "Straight Up Psycho" and "Mad 
Skills," versions unavailable anywhere and an interview with producer Muffla 
of 1-A POSSE. The album release party for The Life of a Hoodlum is being 
held at Michael W. Smith's club, Rocketown, in Brentwood, TN, on October 15, 
1994. T-BONE will be doing a live show, and there will be tons of giveaways,

Chris Lizotte is touring Switzerland right now, visiting such towns as Thun 
and Concise. Chris' new video "Gonna Take You Back" has been receiving video 
airplay on many stations, so if you would like a copy for your video show, 
please call the Metro One-Brentwood office.

Crystal Lewis Greatest Hits album will be released in November 1994. With 16 
classic Hits, this will be a most comprehensive Crystal collection. This 
album also features a previously unreleased song that Crystal has sung at 
Harvest Crusades, "Come Just As You Are." Every time she sings this song at 
a crusade, we at Metro One would get a barrage of phone calls asking where 
to get that song.

Secular distribution is being negotiated for Precious Death's brand new 
album Some New Songs. We can't tell you all the details as of yet, but the 
next press release should reveal more. The band is very excited as this will 
afford them the opportunity to minister to people that would not normally go 
into a Christian bookstore to buy an album. Please pray for their new album, 
and Precious Death's ministry, as God uses it to reach the lost. Precious 
Death will be out of the studio around the first week of September, and Some 
New Songs will release on October 13, 1994. Look for their cover story in 
the November issue of Heaven's Metal.

Raspberry JAM is in a jam. They need a new lead singer, and they need one 
fast. Set to go into the studio in October to record their second album, 
they still have not found anyone to replace Angel Short, who recently left 
the band. If you know anyone who would like to 'jam' along with them, please 
have them send demo tapes to the Metro One-Newport Beach office. The 
Raspberry JAMmers have been playing a jarfull of shows, including opening up 
for the Newsboys in Vallejo, CA.

Peter King To Host MTV Game Show
Nashville, TN--Peter King, guitarist for Myrrh Records recording artist 
Dakoda Motor Co., will co-host Sand Blast, a new action/sports game show on 
MTV, along with Summer Sanders, the U.S. swim team gold medalist from the 
'92 Olympics in Barcelona. King and Summers will film 65 shows on location 
at Disney World during the month of October. Sand Blast will air daily on 
MTV beginning the week after Christmas.

King and his band, Dakoda Motor Co., have been touring in support of their 
highly acclaimed sophomore Myrrh project, Welcome, Race Fans, which released 
in June, and the group will be releasing their Welcome, Race Fans video in 
September. The video, which features songs from their current album, was 
produced and directed by Steve Taylor and Peter King.

After opening the first four shows on Steve Taylor's much- anticipated 
Squinternational Tour, the group will take a break from touring this Fall 
while King films Sand Blast and then goes to Hawaii to film surfing footage 
for Billabong sportswear.

Top Country Stars Celebrate--The Heart Of Christmas_
NASHVILLE--Many of the most popular artists in country music today are 
joining forces for _The Heart Of Christmas--12 Favorites By Today's Country 
Stars_, to be released October 10 on the Sparrow label.

"The Heart Of Christmas" features new Christmas recordings by John Berry ("O 
Come, O Come Emmanuel"), Charlie Daniels ("Christmastime In Dixie") and 
Billy Dean ("I Still Believe In Christmas"). In addition, the project

Limited Edition _Chant Noel_ To Be Available From Sparrow Distribution
NASHVILLE--_Chant Noel--Chants For The Holiday Season_, the follow- up to 
the double platinum-plus "Chant," will be available from Sparrow 
Distribution this fall. Sparrow will make the special limited edition 
available to Christian retailers on a one-time order basis.

_Chant Noel_ features 22 chants celebrating the birth of Christ and the 
Christmas season. Each selection was recorded in Latin, with the English 
translation included in the lyric booklet.

Since its March release, _Chant_ has experienced unparalleled multi-format 
success, selling more than 2.5 million units. The project debuted at number 
one on Billboard's Classical chart and reached the number three position on 
The Billboard 200. The album has received coverage on 'Today" and "ABC 
Evening News," as well as in Time and USA Today.

Michael Card Continues _Journey_ With November Release of _Poiema_
NASHVILLE--Following the recent gold certification of _Sleep Sound in Jesus_ 
and the sales success of the top-selling _Joy in The Journey_ Sparrow will 
release _Poiema_ the latest recording from award-winning artist, songwriter 
and author Michael Card, on November 7. Produced by Phil Naish and Brown 
Bannister, _Poiema_ features 12 new Card compositions focusing on the 
artist's relationships with his family and friend-and his Lord.

"With 15 albums and numerous awards to his credit, Michael Card has 
established himself as one of Christian music's most consistent artists," 
said Lucy Diaz, vice president, artist development, Sparrow Communications 
Group. "Following the astounding sales success of 'Sleep Sound in Jesus' and 
Joy in The Journey,, Sparrow will emphasize the personal content of _Poiema_ 
through a comprehensive marketing campaign which promises to broaden 
Michael's already loyal audience."

To launch the campaign, Sparrow will distribute a special _Poiema_ 
prerelease CD package, featuring personal song introductions by the artist, 
to retail, radio and press outlets nationwide in October. The project's 
first radio single, "The Poem Of Your Life," will release to Christian Adult 
Contemporary, Inspirational and CHR formats October 21. Future singles will 
include "Things We Leave Behind" and "Hope," among others.

Further developing customer interest in _Poiema_ a 10-minute video 
highlighting music from the release, along with Card's descriptions of the 
songs, will be available for in-store play. In addition, retail outlets will 
benefit from an extensive print advertising campaign.

Myrrh Happenings: Summer 1994 Recap
Gotee Records
Myrrh Records and Gotee Records have announced the formation of a Christian 
market distribution deal. Effective immediately, all CBA sales and 
distribution of Gotee Records product will be available through Myrrh 
Records/Word Distribution. The new agreement was kicked off with a concert 
at 328 Performance Hall on August 23, 1994, featuring Out of Eden, 
Christafari, Grits and E-Race.

Amy Grant
Amy Grant's _House of Love_ shipped over 460,000 units to CBA outlets on 
August 15, breaking records in the Christian music marketplace. Total pre-
release sales by Myrrh and A&M exceed one million units. Amy leaves in 
September for an intensive European concert and promotional tour. Her 
current single, "Children of the World" is at #8 four weeks after the single 
shipped! Way to go, Jill Brownell! Prior to the album's release on the 23rd, 
the Top 25 radio stations were mailed a special giveaway promo package which 
included cassettes, standups and CD libraries.

Bryan Duncan
His latest project, _Slow Revival_, just released to retail. _Slow Revival_ 
follows on the heels of Bryan's highly successful _Mercy_ project, which was 
named 1993 Album of the Year by the Christian Research Report. Bryan's first 
single, "Traces of Heaven," is at #1 o n CCM's AC chart after only five 
weeks. He is preparing to go into the studio to record a greatest hits album 
in Spanish.

Guardian
Guardian has been readying their new project, _Swing, Swang, Swung_, for a 
September release, and are preparing to begin filming videos from the new 
project. They have been nominated for "Favorite Rock Band," "Favorite Rock 
CD," and "Favorite Long Form Video" by The American Christian Music Awards, 
and will soon be opening for Steve Taylor on the upcoming "Squinternational 
Tour." The band recently completed a short promotional tour in Southern 
California where they visited with press and radio.

Dakoda Motor Co.
As always, this band has been on the move. Their first single from _Welcome, 
Race Fans_ is still #1 on CCM's Rock chart! They have been playing pretty 
much every festival around, and still managed to find time to shoot the four 
videos for their video package. The Welcome Race Fans retail video will 
release in September. Two of the videos were produced by Peter King and the 
remaining two were produced and directed by Steve Taylor. Speaking of Peter 
King... he was recently seen on MTV hosting the Summer Beach Party's Prime 
Time Show on behalf of The Surf Riders Foundation.

Greg Long
Greg's very first single from his debut album, _Cross My Heart_, a duet with 
Margaret Becker entitled "How Long," recently hit #1 on both CRR's and CCM's 
national AC radio charts. Cross My Heart is currently #2 on CCM's Sales 
Chart.

Eric Champion
"My Life," the current radio single from Eric's highly acclaimed _Vertical 
Reality_ project, recently went #1 on both CRR's and CCM's national AC radio 
charts. "Touch," the first release from the album, went to #1 on the CHR 
charts earlier in the summer. Eric has spent most of his summer out on the 
road with The Newsboys and is getting ready to embark on a fall tour with 
Geoff Moore and the Distance. He recently performed at the DC/LA '94 
conventions for 30,000 and 6,000 teenagers in attendance respectively at the 
two conventions. This was tremendous exposure for Eric and his latest album.

Anointed
Anointed has been hard at work in the studio preparing for their next album. 
From what we've heard already, it's going to be incredible! The project is 
being produced by Mark Heimerman (Michael W. Smith, D.C Talk) and Cedric 
Cauldwell (BeBe & CeCe Winans).

77's
Radio success has been a great part of the 77's summer. "Snake," the first 
single from their _Drowning With Land in Sight_ project, held the number one 
slot on CCM's national rock chart for 6 weeks, and on the Rock Music Report 
and Pure Rock Report 's rock charts for 8 weeks.

Russ Taff
Russ Taff has been out on the road as part of the Gaither Vocal Band. Taff's 
current project is _We Will Stand...Yesterday and Today_, a collection of 
his greatest hits that has received much popular and critical acclaim.

Strong Hand of Love
Myrrh Records recently hosted a special memorial concert in memory of the 
late singer/songwriter Mark Heard at this year's Cornerstone Festival, which 
was the site of Heard's final performance before his death in 1992. The 
tribute concert was held in conjunction with the release of the Strong Hand 
of Love project, and featured performances by Rich Mullins and members of 
the Ragamuffin Band, Ashley Cleveland, Randy Stonehill, Phil Madeira and 
Rick Elias. Also speaking at the tribute were Evangelicals for Social Action 
Public Relations Coordinator, Dwight Ozard, and Myrrh's Manager of Public 
Relations, Lynn McCain.

Brian White and Brian Goodell Begin "Livin' In The Sight Of Water" Tour
BRENTWOOD, TN--Broken Records artists Brian White and Justice with special 
guest Brian Goodell of Essential Records recently kicked off the fall leg of 
the "Livin" In The Sight Of Water" Tour. More than 50 concert dates are 
scheduled through December in the Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, South 
Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida areas.

White, a Dove-award winning songwriter, will be performing material from his 
debut project Livin' In The Sight of Water. Goodell will be crooning the 
contemporary pop/R&B sounds of his smash debut release Simple Love. The tour 
is expected to target primarily youth audiences with shows scheduled in high 
schools, churches and colleges.
