Oil is far more plentiful than previously estimated, there is enough coal to last hundreds of years, and the basic technology to convert coal to gas over 60 years old. The energy crisis of the 1970s was a political problem not a natural shortage. We should concentrate on more dire problems of energy consumption than supply, such a global warming TB
