Ok - thank you for the info on what these things are.  Ity is a much
different system in Australia, based entirely on your results as an
undergrad, and in particular your honours year.  It sounds like a public
service exam - why do you need to do a maths test to get into a sociology
programme?  Or is this a test to see if you can actually jump through hoops
in the appropriate way?
