If anyone from LSU is on this list maybe they can enlighten this. I hope to go to LSU because I wias borna and Raised in Baton Rouge, LA and my dad is a Psycology professor there so I could live at home. LSU has had some name brand sociologists. I think Leslie White and Robert Merton were both there for a time. Tonnies' son-in-olaw was a professor there also. I am sure that presentations or publications certianly cannot hurt one's chances of getting into a PhD program.
