Some of these questions were dealt with already.  I think the point I brought
up a week and a half ago are general unwritten rules along the lines of
"white males are expected to do sociology as a science, and therefore
ignore the concerns of women and people of color, etc" and its obverse.
This grew out of the findings of the folks at the University of Georgia
that women and people of color tend to be hired in positions for particular
areas.  By the way, all socgrad posts (although I am not so sure about the
McFeeley posts) are available through gopher and the web at csf.colorado.edu.
They are not arranged by date, but this particular discussion thread began
on Sunday, June 15.
