If so, I'd say it reflects how much time people have on their hands as determined by the rhythms of the academic year. You can see a consistent drop at the end of each semester. But then how do you explain the bump at 9602? Was there a hot topic that month? The other explanation could be that it reflects the people on the quarter system, but then they don't show up the next year.
