In response to your question, Cornell actually has two different sociology programs, one in the College of Arts & Sciences, one in the College of Agriculture. The A&S program is standard sociology; the Ag program is in Development Sociology, i.e., the sociology of developing countries. The latter, in which I am a student, has a much highe avg. age of student, larger international representation, and number of students with MS or other advanced degrees. Its focuses are environment, population and development, state and society, and community and regional studies. DOn't know if any of this meets your interests. There's essentially no crim here, but there are other programs at Cornell where diffferent soc-related interests fit in. If you want more info on this place, e-mail me (mpr6@cornell.edu) Don't know the answers to your other questions, though it was my impression the highest GRE mattered most, unless it was ancient rrelative to lower ones.
