I think i would be more interested in the publics perception of sociology broken down by specialties. One would assume that the more applied specialties would have more prestige than those that are not, but it would be cool to see if that was actually true. I know that places like the GSS have occupational prestige scales, but i can not now think of any other measures (in the lit.). Brent
