Jake also put together a special project in which students pasted new labels on a variety of clothing at local shops and malls...labels which noted that the clothing sold at Sears, Wards, Walmart, Penney's and other stores...was made by children earning 40 cents an hour or so in Mexico and other Central American Companies. Students could earn up to 10 pts by pasting 20 labels on clothing from maquiladores...the documentary mentioned the firms by name...Arizona clothing, for example, is not made in Arizona...it is made by young women as young as 13 in Central America for as little as 38 cents/hour.
