I have no problem with the analytical and quantitative parts of the test and I can figure out good ways of preparing for them by using common sense. However, when it comes to the verbal section I feel like a total idiot. Being a non-native English speaker makes it really hard for me to prepare. I don't want to memorize the words (for one thing I don't think i can memorize that many words...). I have been in the US since 1993 and everyone complements me on my English (a lot of people think i was born and raised in the US) yet i can't score more than 350 on verbal section. Soc. depts look at verbal+quantitative, so my score barely make it to 1050 on those sections. What do I do? Any suggestions? Zeynep Ozgen Department of Sociology Arizona State University zeyno@asu.edu
