A few weeks ago I posted a list of suggested videos for supplementing intro soc courses. One of the ones I mentioned, "In Whose Honor?" directed by Jay Rosenstein, will be aired tomorrow, Tuesday July 15 as part of PBS' Point of View American documentary film series. The info I have says 10 pm nat'lly, but you'll want to check your local PBS listing to be sure. Again, the film is about the use of Native Americans as mascots, focusing specifically on the University of Illinois and our "Chief." It is an excellent way to illustrate the deep roots of racism in our country and the creative ways people have of justifying it. Students are usually quite affected; I know I was. If you watch, let me know what you think! Rachel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rachel L. Goldstein Department of Sociology University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 326 Lincoln Hall 702 S.
