It is unfortunate that a lot of subtle relationships among concepts cannot
be effectively communicated in ascii. For your information the mailing list
I refered to is called Bad Subjects, it contains a fair percentage of
people who are/ write and assumably live queer theory. For "us /  them"  to
joke about sacred cows in amercian pop cultural stereotypes is a special
treat. I think it can be called deconstruction. You take away the power of
an issue when you change who is the speaker and reverse the audience. What
was once the tools of the oppressor now becomes the plaything of the
children who don't remember what they were used for in the old days.

The Bad Subjects list is fully archived and has their own webpage and
journal. If you want pointers let me know. I'd love to introduce some
people to it. THAT list people unsubscribe from because of the high
traffic. Unlike this one where TR Young's lectures are largely the most
coherent thread and the ideas presented in each go largely uncommented
upon. C'mon, even a few flames are nice now and then, that's why the alt.*
hierarchy is the biggest concentration of Usenet traffic.
