It aims to reflect the ways in which contemporary theoretical ideas and concepts in those disciplines are explored, debated and applied in empirical contexts. It aims to provide both academics and professionals with enriching and accessible analyses of current issues. The title refers to our aspirations to reflect and integrate concerns about subjectivity/identity and concerns with the broader structural features of social life. Each issue will also include an extensive book review section covering texts relevant to the journal's aims. The first issue volume of Self, Agency and Society is schedule for early 1997. Self, Agency and Society is edited by Steve Webb - Head of Social Sciences and David Chalcraft - Head of Sociology at the University of Derby. The book reviews editor is Sarah Pink, Division of Social Sciences also at the University of Derby. The Editors seek papers relevent to the journal's core objectives.
