One solution may be for Young to place his lectures on a web page
somewhere (in this way he could expand his potential audience, revise
the lectures-- perhaps even ask us students to help rewrite them...), and
that socgrad students interested in discussing them could do so, much like 
the wonderful suggestion a long time ago about reading an article/book a
month (what ever happened to that, by the way?).  Consequently, Young
would have his lectures, and socgrad could maintain the discussion side of
things.
